Welcome to New York

Hello Friends and Family,

We made it to New York safely! We spent a week painting, cleaning and exploring with Mom and Dad Spangler. Here are some pictures of the house.

Since it apparently takes a moving truck a week to make a drive we make in 8 and a half hours we have had plenty of time to expore the area while we were waiting for our furniture to arrive. We went to Niagra Falls (the Canadian side), Jamestown and Buffalo Malls, and some local parks and shops. Here are some pictures of the local marina and Lake Erie.

The moving truck finally arrived on Friday morning and we realized that we have way too much stuff. This was apparent the minute they opened the doors to the truck, but it became even more obvious when they moved everything into the house. Our house had seemed rather larger when filled only with a couple of sleeping bags, but now we are working to find enough space for all of our things.

The movers were delightful and almost as skilled as Jerry and Larry.

We are working hard to get everything unpacked and promise to take more pictures and post them as soon as we figure out where we want all of our stuff to go.

We love and miss you all already and hope to have visitors soon!

After witnessing the first bat experience I'm glad you have nice neighbors who are not afraid of bats! Good Luck with your classes.

Bats you say??? Welcome to the wonderful world of living in an older home!! We've had THREE in three weeks!!! Our advice: get a very large butterfly net.....that's the only way to catch them.

Ewww, you are better than I if you are getting that close to them! I just sealed up ever nook and cranny of the house and made the basement off limits after dark :) If that fails we rigged a small window in the kitchen that can be opened from the outside. Apparently if there is an open window they will fly out.
