Cubs vs. Giants

No, not the real teams. This is the Dunkirk-Fredonia men's league, but they name themselves after major league teams and wear the full uniforms. We've followed our friend Dustin, who unfortunately plays for the Cubs, during the latter part of the summer. We've told Jackson that we are cheering for Dustin, not the Cubs, and that seems to satisfy him. Here is Dustin up to bat in the last game of the season.

Last year, the Giants played the Cubs for the championship--one game--which the Giants lost. So this year, the Giants' coach, who is also the league commissioner, decided to change the rules and play a two-game, total points championship "series." The Cubs won the first game 6-0, which meant that they had a 6 run advantage coming into this morning's game. Unfortunately for the Cubs, the Giants brought in a ringer, and they won the second game 17-1 (or something sad like that). So, the Giants won. Of course, the Cubs complained, but what can you do when the opponents manager is the commish? Not much.

Still, it was a fun game to watch, as you can see from the fans. Here is Rachel holding Dustin and Aimee's baby, Pascal. You can see the excitement on his face.
And here is the entire family after the game, mourning the Cubs' loss...
