Baby Preparations
With about 6.5 weeks until Jackson's ETA (October 24th) we have been trying to wrap up our preparations. We have packed his diaper bag for the trip to the hospital, completed our birth plan, and had his car seat professionally installed by the Fredonia police.

We then painted it white (which did make the drawers stick a little, but Susie fixed them). It goes great in the nursery, and it just holds all of Jackson's 0-6 months clothes. What can we say, that boy has a lot of outfits.

We are biased, but we think it turned out pretty cute!
We have also put most of the finishing touches on the nursery. We put together the Amby bed and dresser that we got from Big Papi. The dresser is from Ikea so it is very high quality and all the directions are done in pictures (or Swedish). Here is Rachel trying to put it together.
Here is Susie with the assembled product.
Here are some pictures of the completed nursery. There really isn't any good camera angle, so you'll just have to imagine the total package view (or come visit and see it for yourself).

That's one beautiful nursey! And he's going to be one spoiled baby! I don't think I've seen a nursery with so much in it. I'm partial to the lovely bookcase. I'm a little confused as to what the big swinging thing is. I don't think I've ever seen one of those before. Clarification? :)
Can't wait to see you guys and Baby J soon!
The swing is an Amby bed, it simulates the womb. It is supposed to help with collic, gerd and prevent SIDS. It also folds into a carring case a little smaller than a bag chair, so we can use it when we travel.
Here I am, trying to post to a blog, which I'm not sure I've ever done before (surely I have; I just don't remember). Anyway, I was so taken with the pix of the nursery that I had to say how cute it was. Like Marcy, I approve of the bookcase. All I can say about the rest of it is that they certainly have improved "baby stuff" (my Dad and Tom used to call it the "ground support equipment") a lot in the last 25 years!
Hugs to all!
