Christmas (Part 2)
We drove to Illinois and spent the night with Marcy and Ken to break up the drive. We love getting to see them and catch up. Rachel loves eating at their place, too, since she and Ken have similar tastes in food, basically the same tastes most 10-year-old boys would have :)
The next morning we headed over to see Bella and Grandpa Bloome, who immediately whisked Jackson away from us.
Are you beginning to sense a trend here?
So was his big brother Aidan, who told us all not to put plastic bags on our heads. I hadn't planned on it, but still it's good to know he's looking out for us.
The Greenie Beanies were also out in force. The boys eluded the camera but here is Sydney and Sasha.
He also got the most original present of the evening. Aunt Diva and Uncle Jerry had a LeVora Plumbing jumpsuit (cover-alls) made for Jackson. It'll be a while before he fits into it, but when he does he'll be the cutest little plumbing advertisement ever.
There were so many great present accompanied by good food. When it was all over, there was nothing to do but crash.
We all needed to rest up for a big day on Christmas.
After that we went to Bloomington to attend our friends' Nikki and Brian's baby shower. Yes, we are at the point where most of our friends are starting families. The shower was a blast, and we got to catch up with a lot of the old grad school crowd that we hadn't seen in a long time. It was so much fun to be around that group again.
After Baby Katie's shower, we headed down to Carlinville where Grandma and Grandpa Spangler whisked Jackson away the moment we arrived.
Well, by the time Christmas Eve rolled around, Jackson was in full holiday spirit. We started off the evening with a Spangler family gathering.
Jackie got to see so many of his cousins. Baby Tanner was there.
We had a great time catching up with everyone and can't wait for Easter when we will have more time to play with all the kids.
After a lovely church service we headed over to the Bloome's for Christmas Eve festivities.
