Jackson's Thanksgiving Trip (part 1)
We decided to pack up our three-week-old baby and drive him to Illinois for Thanksgiving. Crazy, right?
Actually it wasn't all that rough. Jackson slept like an angel all the way to Indiana where, we stopped for the night. He got his first dinner in a restaurant, accompanied by this first public feeding, and he was (thankfully) very discrete. Then he stayed in his first hotel. Here he is rocking the Red Roof Inn.
Don't let the sweetness of that picture fool you. He was in rare form that night. After sleeping all day in the car, he was up all night long, and he was loud. We will likely never be welcomed at that Red Roof Inn again.
The next morning we put on his cute little overalls and put him back in the car seat, where he promptly fell back asleep.
After another few hours in the car, we got to stop off in Springfield, and Jackson got to meet his GG-Ma and GG-Pa. They adored him, of course!
When we got to Carlinville, he got to meet his Uncle Bubby. It was obvious that these two are going to be great friends.

The next day it was time to go visit Great Grandma Walden. Jackson gave us quite the work-out there, but it was really wonderful to see the generations come together.
That evening Kris and Brock stopped by, and Jackson was in a great mood. He ate a full bottle and then stayed awake to coo and interact a little bit.

Then it was time to head over to the Bloome's house so Jackson could steal the heart of Grandma and Grandpa Bloome. Can you see a trend here?

It seemed like the whole town had stopped by, and it wasn't even Thanksgiving Day yet! What can we say--Jackson is a very popular boy!
Stay tuned for a report on the official Turkey Day festivities.
