While in Illinois we celebrated Susie's Birthday. It was a little more subdued than we had hoped it would be because Jackie was still recovering from a double ear infection, but we still managed to have some fun.

Susie started off the day by opening some presents. She got some Maggiano's salad dressing, some SD cards for her Palmie, and Jackie got her a three month subscription to satellite radio (as you can see Jackie was still a little glazed over from his medicine).

We went to Springfield to have lunch with Grandma Rosie and Grandpa Larry because it was Grandpa's birthday too. We had a wonderful meal of roast with all the fixings.
After lunch it was off to the new Lincoln Museum. Here is the Spangler Family with the Lincoln Family.

We really enjoyed the museum. If you haven't had a chance to go, you should really check it out. There are two excellent multi-media shows as well as tons of artifacts and displays.
Jackson, though, was not swayed: He was still ready to join up with the CSA. He understands the whole Lincoln connection with our family.
After the museum Jackson headed home with Nana and Papa, and Rach and Suz stayed in Springfield. We had some time to kill before dinner, so we ended up at Knights Action Park to play a little putt putt golf.

For dinner we met one of Susie's former students, Nato, and his fiance, Jill.

We had some great brick-oven pizza and got all caught up with each other. It was a nice way to end a special day.

Rachel, take a look at the way your dad and Tanner are squinting into the sun and smiling. It's identical. :)
Looks like you two had a very fun (and full) trip.
Huh I hadn't noticed that!
