Back to reality (sort of)
This week was pretty busy. Susie started back to school on Monday. She is teaching two classes (Literacy & Technology, and Tutoring) and supervising six (6!) student teachers. Luckily she only teaches on Mondays and Wednesdays, so she has some flexibility to see student teachers the other days of the week.
Rachel's editor e-mailed with some writing tasks for her, so the honeymoon period of novel publishing is over, and she's finding that it's actually kind of hard work. However, she's not complaining because she loves her novel and she is working with a top-notch group of people.
Don't think it's all work and no play, though. Rachel's loving the fact that she can mix work with play, and in the name of "research" we headed off to Peek 'n Peak for some skiing. We took our first ever lesson and were pleased to hear that we are much better than we thought we were. The instructor kept saying how he didn't believe we'd never had any formal training and that we must play a lot of sports. We both laughed so hard that we almost rolled down the mountain. It's not a big place, but it was affordable and close by, and we both had a great time, so I'm sure we'll be heading back there soon. Especially now that we have an expert's guarantee that we are "intermediate" skiers.

This weekend we are hanging around the house, watching the Australian Open and the Winter X Games. We also have a lot of cleaning to do before Will gets here on Thursday.
Hope all is well with all of you!
