Snow Shoe Day One

Greetings From Snow Shoe Mountain!

We arrived on Monday after a drive that was not so long except for about the last hour or so when we were wandering through the mountains along some back country roads. We didn't see any snow until we started up the mountain, but when we got to the top, it was clear that all the snow guns were blowing full speed ahead. While we didn't have time to hit the slopes that first night, it was nice just knowing they were there. Plus the view from our complex is amazing! Here is a picture of the sun setting over the backside of the mountain.

Will arrived a few hours after we did, and we explored the village a little bit before heading to our room. Here is a shot of the slope side of the village.

The room isn't much in the way of style, but it's got a lot in the area of functionality. It is actually a little condo with a bedroom, a living room, a bathroom and a small kitchen. It is located in the Top of the World complex.

We settled in and had a nice dinner and watched the BCS championships ( just long enough to see Florida blow it wide open and then we got depressed and turned it off).
