Nursery Updates
We have been very busy in the nursery lately. Not happy with the selection for most baby decor, we decided to go with the very fun but nowhere-to-be-found "snowflake" theme. And because we cannot find any pre-made wallpaper, border, curtains, or sheets, we are going to be making most of this ourselves (maybe with some help from family, hint hint). Our most recent decorating escapades involves the handmade border we decided on: snowflake stencils. Now, you'll recall from a previous post how well the stencilling on the hope chest went. Well, our recent effort was a bit more tedious, but with the same fabulous results. First, we had to tape the walls in order to paint the stripes for the border. Rachel measured meticulously and used the level. We had to go get a laser level (our Fathers' Day present) in order to make the corner turn successfully.

Then, we painted two quick coats . . .
. . . and took off the tape and waited a few days.
Then, we stencilled the snowflakes on.
And here is the end result.
Susie has also been busy knitting (again). She found a pattern for a "lovie" toy and decided to make it. Here is the finished Lovie, which we've named after Bears coach Lovie Smith.
