Though we are far away we want to make sure we stay in touch and keep everyone updated on what's going on in Western New York. Please feel free to post your own comments and send us notes.

Hey Folks,

We are in Louisville a the moment, and wanted to send you a little update. We arrived on Saturday and spent our first night walking around 4th street Live, which is the new entertainment district. We checked out the bars and restaurants and watched some artists at work.
Then on Sunday evening we made a quick run out to Churchill Downs, where they run the Kentucky Derby. We were just kicking ourselves for forgetting our camera because we got to see the 9th and 10th races of the day and watch the horses and Jockeys warm up in the Paddocks. It was really neat to watch, and Susie was so excited to see Calvin Borel (below), the Jockey who won the Derby this year.

She bet on him for both races, but he didn't make us any money. Rach, on the other hand had done her research and was able to pick the "show" horse in each race, and made just enough money for us to break even on the trip. We thought that was pretty good for our first day at the track.

During the days, Susie is a Table leader at the AP reading which means she supervises the grading of the AP exams. Rach spends her days writing and watching the French Open (she definitely has the better end of the that deal).
Tonight we are headed to a Minor League Baseball game, so we'll try and update you soon as to how that goes.
