New Purchase

The month of May brought us an extra paycheck (Susie gets paid 26 times a year), so with some of the money we bought something we've needed since we moved here--a lawnmower. Yesterday we went to Monte's Small Engine Repair Service and bought a new Toro "walk-behind" mower. Back in October, Monte had helped us with the snow-blower (which turned out to be crap) we had bought on e-bay, and we felt it was important to support him as a small-business owner. The people there are VERY nice, and they service all their equipment, too, so we believe we made the right choice going to them instead of to Home Depot.

Today Susie put the mower to use. It can bag the grass, expel it from the side, or mulch it. Ok, we won't keep you in suspense: We just mulched the grass. Now, our lawn is no longer the disgrace of the neighborhood. Of course, we won't be winning any awards for it either, not when our neighbor spends about 2 hours a day doing yardwork (today was "new mulch day" for her). Anyway, we hope the mower will last for many years.
