Country Baby

A lot of people hear that we live in NY and immediately think of the city. That couldn't be further from our reality. We actually live in a pretty small town, and we enjoy a lot of the benefits of country living.

We all got a major treat during the last part of July when we got to experience the Chautauqua County Fair. Jackson of course had never been to a fair, but you'd hardly know it by the way he got around the fair grounds.

He rode the carousel like a pro. He held on tight to mommy while riding but then wanted to ride again and again.

He also got up close and friendly with the animals. He really liked the baby pigs.

He wanted to be right up against the gates so he could pet all the animals, that is until a sheep gave a very loud baa right in his face. Then he was so over it.
So from the barn we moved on to the farm bureau tent, where he had a blast milking the cow.

He would have played in the corn all day if we'd let him, and he drove that tractor like it was his job.

By the end of the day he'd seen and done just about all he could handle!

We also got to have some good country fun when the rodeo came to town. Jackson got all duded up in his western wear, and we drove out to take in the festivities.

We were joined by our friends Todd and Etta. Etta is Jackson's best buddy right now, and she really liked the mutton busting, though she wasn't into her new cowgirl hat.

Jackson loved the whole rodeo. He was very attentive during all the events and would have stayed all day if hadn't started to rain.
