Marcy's Wedding
We were also pleased with the bridesmaids dresses. You know those things could go either way, but as you can see modeled by Melissa (below), they were very tasteful and elegant and not a bit over the top. On a side note, Melissa and her husband, Jeff, let us stay at their house while we were in town, and Jackson got to spend time playing with their adorable little girl, Audra.
Also in the above picture you can see our friends from grad school, Brad and Jen. We hadn't seen them in over year, and it was a blast to get caught up again. They are among our all-time favorite couples.
Anyway, back to the ceremony, it was sweet and intimate, and it really fit with Marcy and Ken. We were thrilled that the pastor got us in and out in under half an hour, but the best part about the whole thing was how happy Marcy and Ken looked. They were practically beaming the entire time.
Neither of them seemed stressed out or nervous, and they looked like they were having a great time together. That theme continued right into the reception, where we had a wonderful sit- down dinner, and the bride and groom circulated through the room.
The cake was almost too pretty to cut, had all different flavors, and was just beautiful. Marcy and Ken were also very nice when feeding it to each other.
It was a perfect wedding for a wonderful couple, and we left feeling just ecstatic at seeing two of our friends so happy together.

Thanks again for coming, you three! I was so happy you were here -- but sad I didn't get to spend more time with you all and catch up. I have to say, I think that your blog entry was about the nicest thing I've read! Thanks for being so nice and for posting the pictures. I particularly like how the last one makes my ring look so big and sparkly! Hope to see and/or talk to you again! I want to make a trip out to your place this summer if possible. Let's coordinate schedules! Love you guys!
