Christmas Morning

On Christmas morning Jackson slept until 8, obviously not understanding that this was a holiday, and he was going to get to open more presents. When he was finally up and moving, we rushed him right to the Christmas tree.

He was getting the hang of the present-opening routine and starting to figure out that there were toys under all that paper, and he did a great job of opening them.

He could hardly contain himself while we got everything out of the boxes, and he wanted to play with all of his gifts right then and there. One of his favorite presents was a tug boat from Uncle Bubby that came with a fisherman and fish.

Jackson wasn't the only one enjoying the gifts though. His mommies got Rock Band 2 and set it up immediately to play a few song. Uncle Bubby was similarly occupied with his new Iphone.

While the big kids were busy with their new toys, Jackson helped everyone open a present from Nana. We all got Spangler University shirts. (Rachel is wearing hers as she writes this.)

It wasn't long before all the attention was back on Jackson as he finished opening his presents and gave us all a performance on his new yellow recorder.

By the time all the gifts were opened and all the food eaten, we were ready for a nap, but the day had only just begun.

We went on to have two more Christmases, one in Taylorville at GG Rosie's house where we ate exquisite food and opened more presents, and then again over the weekend in Pana with the Burris crew, games, and more presents.

By the end of the weekend we were all Christmased out. It was an amazing holiday for all of us.
