Thanksgiving
We went directly from San Antonio to Illinois for Thanksgiving.
On Thanksgiving day we went to the Bloomes. Jackson loved watching Bella cook her noodles and all the other things that sizzled and bubbled. We think we might have a little chef on our hands. At dinner time, Jackson got to try his first real taste of turkey.
He thought it was ok, but he wasn't terribly impressed. He did go nuts for the homemade noodles though and ate his body weight in them over the course of the evening.
Other than Turkey Day, most of our visit home was just spend relaxing with family and friends. We stayed with Nana and PawPaw Spangler. and Jackson had a blast with all the attention (and pretzels) he got.
He especially likes sitting with Grandpa Harry because that's where he gets the most junk food.
While we were in Carlinville, the town held their lighting ceremony for all their Christmas lights, so we went up to the square to see that. It was pretty cold, but Jackson loved all the singing, and he clapped and laughed when the lights finally came on, so it was worth the wait.
As always we were sad to leave (this time on a train). We knew it would only be three weeks before we were home again, and that made the goodbyes much easier.
