Nana and PawPaw Visit
Nana and PawPaw came out to visit last weekend. It was a quick trip for them, but we made the most of our time with them. On Friday Rach and Suz made use of the free babysitting to go out to dinner and a movie. We aren't sure what Jack did with Nana and PawPaw, and we didn't really care. We were just thrilled to get a night out.
Saturday was Red, White, and Blues Festival in Fredonia, so we all walked down to the commons to take in the festivities.
We met up with some friends for the Taste of Fredonia part of the festival. We ate some really awesome food like shrimp bruschetta and Buffalo chicken pizza. Jackson wasn't really interested in the food once Etta showed up, and really, who can blame him? The two of them raced each other around the fountain until Jackson had to go take his nap.
PawPaw took the boy home, but Nana stayed downtown to hang out with us. We sampled some of the cheesecake and listened to a few of the blues bands rock the commons.
We ran into more friends as the afternoon went on and the bands picked up. Little Mister Simon wasn't as interested in the music as he was the balloons and Rachel's necklace.
Mid-afternoon we headed over to the Village Hall steps to see an Elizabeth Cady Stanton impersonator. Rachel has a minor degree in Women's Studies, so she loves her historical women, especially the fiery ones. It was admittedly nerdy fun, but fun nonetheless.
Sunday Rach and Suz let Jackson stay home from church with his heathen grandparents. They took him down to the Little Canadaway Creek that runs through the middle of town.

They took part in one of Jackson's favorite pastimes, throwing rocks in water.
Then they checked out the waterfalls, which Jack calls "Big Water." Can you believe something this pretty runs right through the middle of our town?
He and PawPaw climbed some trees.
Then guess what Jackson wanted to do? Yeah, throw more rocks. Really though, how could you ever say no to something as cute as this?
