Snow Update

How many of you have noticed the weather reports from Buffalo? Have you seen the pictures that look like this?

Yes, Buffalo got 2 feet of snow on Thursday night. Yes, Buffalo has been declared a state of emergency. Yes, a large portion of the city is going to be without power until Monday due to the heavy snow and the leaves still on the trees taking down almost 50% of the city's powerlines (see the next picture). And yes, Buffalo is only about 35 miles from our house.

So, one could reasonably think that we were snowed in here . . . but one would be wrong.
We got a sprinkling of some very fine fluries that melted the minuted they touched the ground, but that was it (and we thought that midwest weather was wild). We have had quite a bit of wind, but other than that it's been good weather, with sunny skies for the Bloome's visit. We have toured the town, gone out to see the lake, been out to dinner, watched some Cards, and worked on the wallpaper. Now we are off to tour a local vinyard.

We'll post more on the weekend (with pictures) later, but we just wanted to leave you with a contrast between our own weather and those of our neighbors in Buffalo.

Fall and Winter separated by only 35 miles.
