Baptism
We headed back to Bloomington the weekend after Christmas to have Jackson baptized at our old church New Covenant Community. We really miss that congregation and were thrill when the pastor, Bob, agreed to perform the ceremony for us.
Both sets of grandparents were there, and so was Uncle Danny, who was named as Jackie's godfather. Several of our good friends joined us as well: Jan, Barb and Mick, who live in Bloomington, and Sara and Ashley who graduated with Rachel and were home for the holidays. It meant so much to us that so many people were able to share such a special events with us.
The ceremony was lovely, and Jackson was a perfect angel. He barely even flinched when the water touched his head. Not to be overlooked was the fact that he looked oh so cute in his little baptism outfit.
After the baptism we had a wonderful meal (as usual) at Biaggis. Their food there is wonderful! It was also nice to have both sides of the family together for a meal. When the family headed back to Carlinville, we went to get our pictures taken. It was our first professional photo session since Jackson was born. He wasn't happy about it through most of the shoot. We did, however, get one smile out of him very early on.
From there on out it was Mr. Pouty face. We were actually very impressed that the photographer got any good shots at all, but she really did an amazing job. Jackson came off looking handsome as always.
We also got several good shots of us as a family. Here are two of them.

You would never know by looking at the last one that Jackson was screaming only 10 seconds before it was taken!
Up next . . . New Year's Eve

What wonderful pictures! I really like both of the family ones -- you're right, I can't tell he was screaming. I'm sorry I couldn't make it to the baptism, but it sounds like it was very nice. Let us know if you're driving back to IL anytime before Feb 11 (we'll be moving that week) because we'd love to have you all stay with us again. :)
Oh - I forgot to mention that I LOVE the baby Smartwools Jackson's wearing! Very stylish.
Amazing pictures!! He is so beautiful/handsome/gorgeous...
In a few years, we may have to fix he and Katie up :)
