Rach and Suz

Though we are far away we want to make sure we stay in touch and keep everyone updated on what's going on in Western New York. Please feel free to post your own comments and send us notes.

Ski Trip, Day 3

After a day spent falling on our butts and a night of ice, the group of skiers dwindled to Rach, Susie, and Will, with the rest of the crew content to enjoy the fine features of our rental cabin.

As you can see, it was much colder as short sleeves were replaced by full winter gear. Here is Susie and Will, though you can't really tell that if you didn't know who wore what coat.

The slopes were icy and running fast, but the terrain park near our cabin was sheltered from the wind, so we decided to play there most of the morning. Will and Rach had a good time pretending like we could hit the half pipe, though after watching each other both admitted that it felt like we were going a lot faster/higher than we really were.

After getting cold and tired, we decided to head in for lunch. We had great food all week with everyone taking turns cooking. The little stop overs also gave us a chance to play with Jackie, who had a blast that week because there was always someone around wanting to play with him. He was one very happy, very spoiled boy.

After having lunch and warming up, we headed back out and hit a few black diamond slopes. We spent a lot of time shooting video to promote Rachel's next novel, which takes place at a ski resort. Here is one of our runs down some intermediate terrain. Don't watch it if you get motion sickness though because it is hard to hold a camera steady while skiing over icy terrain.

We made several great runs and shot a lot of fun videos that will appear closer to the release of Trails Merge.

It was sad to pack up and head home on Wednesday, sadder still to say goodbye to Shane, Michelle and Brandy. Will did stay with us for another week before heading home. So we'll have more to come on that later.
