Sneak Peeks of Spring

So for a while now we've been getting little bits of spring trying to break through the end of our long winter. We got our first really good weekend at the end of March, and we spent it at the birthday party of one of Jackson's little friends.
We spent the entire afternoon in the back yard and the big kids (including a few adults) played T-ball. Jackson watched attentively, and when the game broke up for a few minutes he decided to give it a try of his own.
What can we say? The boy is a natural! In no time at all he was setting the ball on the tee and hitting all by himself. When the game started back up again, Jackie boy was still in the mix. With a little help, he was hitting line drives and running the bases.

He had quite the audience. Everyone at the party was very impressed with his skills, especially Simon, who had a front row seat on Susie's lap. Aren't they adorable?

After that we got another couple of snow days. :) Jackson just about went crazy trying to break down the front door. Once he'd gotten a taste of the great outdoors, he didn't want to stay inside.
Thankfully, we got another little break this past weekend. We got to go out to the park several times. Jackson loves every bit of being outside. He and Ben had a blast one day swinging into their parents and knocking them down.
This weekend things got so nice that we were able to enjoy an outdoor festival in the town square. There were activities for the kids. Jackson made himself a pasta necklace.
Then we had a picnic lunch with a whole big group of our friends. Jackson was less interested in lunch than he was in showing off all of his baseball tricks and dancing to the band.
It was a nice day and Jackie saw tons of friends (this is one popular kid), but we think he liked the donut most of all.

It was a good time, and people seemed to be having a blast just soaking up the sunshine and being social again. Of course it's going to be cold and damp for the next week, but we're sure the sunshine will be around to stay eventually.
