Trails Merge

Well I know it seems like all we do all day is play with Jackson, and while that is the best part of the day, we do still have jobs.

Rachel is currently very happy with her job because she just sent her second novel off to her editors this week. Trails Merge is slated for release in December of 2008, so there will be about 4 months of teeth-gnashing and hair pulling as we try to get the manuscript ready for print, but the bulk of the writing is done!

As you can see above, the cover for Trails Merge is already available, and once again Sheri the cover artist did a fantastic job and even Incorporated a picture Will (Big Papi) took on one of our ski trips into the cover art. We also have the pre-publication work done, so I can officially share the book blurb with you all. Here it is:

Every skier knows that anything can happen when trails merge without warning.

After a devastating ultimatum from her lover, Campbell Carson returns to her childhood home, Bear Run Ski Resort, seeking her family’s unconditional solace and support. Parker Riley escapes to the mountain after the high-powered world of Chicago’s political machine leaves her questioning her judgment in both life and love. Despite their initial wariness, the women find their budding friendship snowballing toward romance. The idyllic mountain resort is the perfect setting for them to learn to rebuild trust, and perhaps to find a second chance at love. However, when Parker’s past resurfaces, Campbell is forced to face her own hard truths. As barely healed wounds reopen, the unexpected obstacles in their path threaten any hope for a future together.

Also on the publishing front, Rachel has a short story accepted for publication in Romantic Interludes 1: Discovery. The story is called "Baby Steps," and the anthology will be released from Bold Strokes Books in September.
