Easter Weekend
The day before Easter we decided to take in a Buffalo tradition by visiting the Broadway Market.
The market is in the Polandia area of Buffalo, which is historically rich, but economically very depressed. The Polish market really only comes fully to life in the week before Easter. The place was jammed packed to the point that we could hardly move at times. It was filled with sights and smells of cooking food and lots of polish kitch.

The next morning was Easter, and Jackson was really into the whole Easter Basket thing even if he didn't fully understand what was going on. He thought all the bunnies were cute and kept saying "hop, hop, hop." He also learned to say egg.

When all the kids arrived, everyone headed to the backyard to see what the Easter Bunny had left for them. Jackie was really interested in finding the eggs . . .
Even if baby Simon had already "found" them. Thankfully Simon wasn't that into his stash of eggs and gladly handed them to Jackson every time he came over.
Etta, on the other hand, was an egg-finding champ, and she was the only one old enough to really understand the concept of finding eggs with her name on them.
We wrapped up and went inside for a great meal. It was a wonderful Easter spent with some great friends and of course the cutest little egg-hunter ever.
We bought fresh cross bread for our Easter Dinner, and as you can see in the above picture, Susie got a polish sausage. Rach and Jack kept pressing their face up against the glass at a store with a sign that read "We dip everything in chocolate." Rach couldn't pass up a chocolate-covered twinkie, and Jackson went crazy over a chocolate-covered banana.
All the excitement had him completely worn out by mid morning, and he flat out crashed after church, so this is the only picture we were able to get of him in his Easter clothes.
While Jackson was taking his nap, Mommy Rachel went outside to help the Easter Bunny hide some eggs for the boy and his friends.
Ben was a little timid at first, but once he figured out that some of those eggs were for him and that they had treats inside them, he was off on the hunt.
