Big Boy Car Seat
Jackson's a little small for his age. Okay, he's a lot small for his age. It is what it is, but one of the side effects of that has been that his car seat has been facing backwards for a long time. Up until recently he was still in his baby seat because he didn't meet the weight requirements to move up to a sitting seat.
Well, he finally got his weight up enough to move into the big boy, front-facing seat (which we'd had sitting in our living room for months). We got him a Graco Matrix, which we highly recommend because it has a one handed adjustment strap that's a life saver. It has a cup holder and a place to store snacks, and it converts to a booster that holds up to 100 pounds. At this rate, Jackson will still be in the seat when he graduates high school.
Susie read the manual front to back and got everything set just right to meet all the safety standards. Then it was time for the real test. Jackie boy was curious about the new seat but not thrilled when he realized he was being strapped in. He started to throw a fit until the car began to move and he realized he was facing forward. He immediately changed his tune and was absolutely giddy when he realized how well he could see all the trucks on the road.

Now he's all geared up for our summer road trips.
