Halloween
Halloween is the day before Jackson's birthday, so Jackie was in for a really busy weekend. The preparations started months in advance when we all decided he would dress up as the pigeon from the Mo Williems books. Of course there are no pre-made Pigeon costumes, so Big Papi was enlisted to make him one.
After hours of sewing and folding and stitching for hours on end, Big Papi produced perhaps the cutest costume in the world.
Jackson tried it on the night before in order to figure out what alterations needed to be made. He gave us a little peek but made us wait until the big night to see the finished project.
Halloween night he was eager to get dressed and get to the candy. Then of course there was much love to Big Papi for helping him to be the cutest pigeon ever.
Finally it was time to show the world the most adorable pigeon it has ever seen.
Then the crazy mommies made the poor boy sit and have his picture taken with us, as we dressed up as the bus drivers from the pigeon books.

Jackie was a good sport and put up with all the positioning and photos and swooning passersby for what probably felt like hours to him, until he finally got to utter the words he'd been practicing all week.
"Trick-or-Treat," he said skeptically, and then much to his surprise it actually worked and he got candy in return. Once he knew this wasn't all an elaborate joke to get him dressed up like a bird, he was off around the neighborhood making people just about keel over from his cuteness.
