Back to Illinois
Okay, I know, I know -we've been terrible bloggers. We have no excuse, we'll try to do better over the next few weeks.

We'd only been home for a few weeks in January before we turned around and headed back to Illinois. What would matter so much that we couldn't miss it, you ask? Heather's baby shower!
The hosts put out a great spread, including this watermelon carved in the shape of a baby carriage.
When Heather said that her favorite cake was a pudding cake from a bakery in Belleville, we wondered if it could really be that good, but one taste proved that this cake is fantastic (and beautiful)!!
Later that evening, the fun friends came over and made onesies and ate pizza for the diaper party. We were most impressed with Jimmy's free-hand attempt, below.
The next morning we ate even more food at the family breakfast. Kenlee entertained everyone by flirting and looking cute all morning.
We enjoyed the company of our family as well as great food. It's always so good to spend the morning catching up with all the aunts/uncles/cousins we miss so much while we're away.
Jackson and PawPaw prepared a surprise snack for us later that night while we watched the SuperBowl.
Jackson wore himself out rooting the Saints to victory and shouting "Who Dat!?!" Then he snuggled up with Nana and PawPaw before bed, and that was alright with them.
Jackson enjoyed watching Heather open all the baby things and wanted to play with many of the items.
Here's Heather with the hosts, Jess and Rachel.
