Christmas At Home
We were busy with the end of Susie's semester, preparations for the holidays, and packing for another trip to Illinois, but we wanted to take some time to celebrate the holiday, just the three of us, before things got really crazy.
We set aside one night as our "little Christmas" and turned away from all the outside distractions. We cooked a very traditional meal of breakfast burritos (everyone does that right?) and lit the candles on our advent wreath while Jackson told us what they each represented.
The assembly didn't take an extraordinary amount of time, but we did choose to fill it with rice instead of sand and water, since we figured that would be easier to clean out of our carpet.
Jackson loved it, and while we did end up with rice all over our living room floor, that seemed like a small price to pay for such a happy boy.
After dinner Jackson got changed into some festive clothes, and mama used the opportunity to play Santa and get all his presents set out.
Jackson's big present was a sand and water table. He was thrilled as soon as he saw the picture on the box.
He also got a big bin of duplos and a doll house that he got o play with while the mommies set up the sand and water table.
