Illinois Part 1

The last weekend in May we were back on the road again, this time for our biggest trip of the summer. We started off by driving to Illinois. Jackson is an old pro at long drives now, so we were able to make great time.

Once we arrived in Carlinville Jackson wasted no time getting into the swing of things. He found Nana and Paw Paw's garden right away.

He was already used to terrorizing our garden, so he jumped right in and started trampling plants. Thankfully, Paw Paw and Aiden we there to show him how to work the soil.

We kept up the country theme on Saturday when we went out to Broom's Orchard so Jackson could see the tractors. He loves trucks and tractors, so we were surprised that he got a little timid around them, but we finally climbed up onto one with Paw Paw.

After the tractors we went out and picked some strawberries. That held Jackson's attention for a few minutes, but he was much more interested in the puddles. We all came home covered in mud, but with loads of strawberries.

Saturday afternoon we were off to Great Grandma Walden's. Jackson went a little crazy when he saw all the snacks she had laid out for us, and she had the Cardinals game on, too. He was in Heaven.

We got to visit with Bella, Grandpa, Aunt Diva, Uncle Richard and Aunt Ashley and Uncle Brett. Jackson was particularly impressed with Uncle Brett, who will eat a cheese doodle even if it's already been in Jackson's mouth. He thought that was hilarious.

We didn't think we'd ever get him out of there, but there were still two more sides of the family to visit.
