North Carolina Part 4

We spent several days lounging around in Greenville, just relaxing and enjoying each other's company. Jackson played with Max, spoke French to Ba-Pa, and just generally looked gorgeous.

He liked to show off what a big boy is. He fed himself (with a little help) and managed to eat with big silverware and no high chair. It could have been that Ba-Pa's carrots were like baby crack for him.

He also enjoyed serenading us while he played the piano. We had daily sing-alongs while Will played hymns, standards and of course, show tunes.

We think Jackson may have picked up some of Will's musical talents because he's already showing an interest in the piano. He would play a few notes and then turn the page of the hymnal and play a few more. Sometimes he would even take a break to do a dance number. Looks like we've got a performer on our hands. Don't know where he got that from.

While we were in G-Vegas Rach joined up for a reading/signing with two other authors at a cool little bookstore/coffeehouse/cafe. She had a great time hanging out with Georgia and D. Jack. It's always good for her be around other writers, especially with a fun audience and a fun venue.

Other than that we mostly hung out, ate well, and went for walks. Jackson especially liked going to ECU where Will works. Everyone on campus made a big fuss over how cute he is, and he got to run amok in the English department office. Will also showed him a big fountain on the quad and Jackson just went bonkers over it. We had to take 15 pictures to get one where he was facing forward and not turned around trying to get into the water.

Jackson also loved spending time with Max. They would take turns chasing each other around the couch or playing fetch. Jackson even tried to be pack leader by learning to point to the kennel and say "Max!"

Sometimes it worked, but more often than not Jackson ended up in the kennel BY HIS OWN CHOICE (just in case Children and Family Service is watching). Maybe we'll have to get one of those for our house.

We all had so much fun and we hated to leave. Every time we go to North Carolina, we have to spend the next few weeks convincing ourselves not to move down there. We've decided instead that we just have to work on getting our friends to move up here!
