Jackie's First Home Game
We decided it was time for Jackson to make a big steps in his Cardinals' fan-dom, so we took a quick trip down to St. Louis so we could introduce Jackson to his home field. This is the first look he got at the park from the garage across the street. He had the proper response of saying "ooohhh."
We walked around the entire stadium so Jackson could really get the feel of the place. First we stopped off to introduce Jack to Jack. We sometimes tell people our Jack is named for Jack Buck, and while that's not completely true, we do like the connection.

Next we made our way through the Cardinals greats. Paw Paw gave Jackie his first of many lessons on Bob Gibson.
Then Suz and Rach taught him how to pay his respects to the great Stan "The Man" Musial.

Finally we said hello to the Wizard and told Jackie stories of watching him play. Jackson took it all in and was very excited to say "hi" to each of the players. It felt like we were literally introducing him to the legends he'll be raised on.

Of course we all posed together under the entrance to the stadium to commemorate the momentous occasion. This one is definitely going in the baby book, right up there with first steps and first words!

Once inside the stadium we walked around a bit before finally getting to our seats. We were pretty early, but that didn't stop Jackson from getting into the Cardinals spirit. He cheered for every Cardinal who was warming up in the outfield.

He was so excited to watch all the pregame festivities and loved the big scoreboard T.V. We couldn't even get him to look away from the field long enough to take pictures, but his mamas were just as proud as could be and didn't miss a chance to document the occasion.

The boy lasted only about 4 innings. Between the heat and the loud crowd, that was about all he could handle, but before we could call it a night we had to make a stop at the Build-A-Bear station and get him his very own Fredbird.

Jackson named his bird after his favorite Cardinal, "Yada" and he cuddled with him until he fell asleep on the way home.
